The repository was developed in the context of a national open access movement in Armenia, supported through the EIFL MINERVA project. YSMU was among four Armenian universities that adopted institutional open access policies and established DSpace repositories. The platform was subsequently upgraded to DSpace 7 with support from EIFL workshops organized in 2022.
