The World Agroforestry Data Repository is the open-access research data platform of World Agroforestry (ICRAF), the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry. ICRAF is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, and is one of 15 agricultural research centers forming the global CGIAR network. In 2019, ICRAF joined forces with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), operating under the combined entity CIFOR-ICRAF.
World Agroforestry was founded in 1978 as the International Council for Research in Agroforestry. ICRAF is the only institution that conducts globally significant agroforestry research across all of the developing tropics. The data repository reflects the organization's commitment to open science and knowledge sharing, making research outputs accessible to governments, development agencies, farmers, and researchers worldwide.
The repository provides access to datasets, publications, and research outputs generated by ICRAF and partner institutions across more than 30 countries. Research areas represented include agroforestry, land use, biodiversity, climate change adaptation, food security, soil science, and sustainable land management. CIFOR-ICRAF publishes over 750 publications annually on agroforestry, forests, and climate change in multiple languages.
The data repository is freely accessible online and allows users to search, browse, and download research datasets and publications. The repository is accessible at worldagroforestry.org/output/data-repository.
