WGXA (channel 24) is a television station in Macon, Georgia, affiliated with Fox and ABC, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Studios are located on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in downtown Macon.
WGXA was established by the Russell-Rowe partnership and made its on-air debut April 21, 1982, as Macon's third commercial television station and its first full ABC affiliate. Its first local newscast did not air until October 18, 1982. The station was purchased by GOCOM Communications in July 1995, which switched its primary affiliation from ABC to Fox on January 1, 1996, in a swap with WPGA-TV. Frontier Television Investors, owned by Jason R. Wolff, purchased WGXA from Piedmont Communications in 2007 for $18.7 million. On January 1, 2010, WGXA regained an ABC affiliation on a second digital subchannel, branded ABC 16, after WPGA-TV dropped the network. Sinclair Broadcast Group acquired WGXA in September 2014.
