West Orange Times & Observer is a paid weekly newspaper serving western Orange County, Florida, including Winter Garden, Ocoee, Oakland and Gotha. It is published by Observer Media Group.
The paper traces to the Winter Garden Ricochet, first published September 13, 1905, by A.B. Newton. The paper changed names and ownership repeatedly over the following century, including The Winter Garden Times, The Times, and West Orange Times. George and Anne Bailey purchased the paper in 1970, and their son Andrew Bailey served as publisher for more than 25 years. Observer Media Group, founded in 1995 by Matt and Lisa Walsh, acquired The West Orange Times in February 2014 and split the publication into the paid West Orange Times & Observer and the free Southwest Orange Observer. The paper celebrated its 120th anniversary in September 2025.
