Andrew West is an Australian journalist and broadcaster who has presented The Religion and Ethics Report on ABC Radio National since the program's 2012 launch, covering the intersection of religion, ethics and current affairs in Australia and internationally, and occasionally filling in on Late Night Live and AM. He studied journalism and international relations at the University of Sydney and at Columbia University in New York. Earlier in his career he was a news and feature writer for the Sun-Herald and a reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald, and worked as a contributing writer for The Australian and as a speechwriter for New South Wales and federal politicians. He is the author of two nonfiction books: a biography of former Australian foreign minister and New South Wales premier Bob Carr, and Inside The Lifestyles of the Rich and Tasteful, an examination of class, social mobility and consumerism in contemporary Australia, with extracts from both appearing in The Sydney Morning Herald. He has also taught journalism at the University of Canberra.
