VnExpress International is the English-language edition of VnExpress, Vietnam's most-read online newspaper, operated by FPT Online, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation.
VnExpress launched February 26, 2001, as Vietnam's first private, digital-only news platform, founded by journalist Thang Đức Thắng, who envisioned a publishing platform with less state control than Vietnam's traditional press. Operated initially without a formal press license under FPT's internet-content-provider license, VnExpress obtained an official license from Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications in November 2011, becoming the country's first financially independent newspaper. VnExpress International, the English-language edition aimed at foreign readers, launched in 2016.
VnExpress ranked 37th globally among news and media websites in December 2024 with 151.3 million monthly visits, and as of October 2025 ranked first in Vietnam's news category with roughly 127 million monthly visits.
