Use of DataThe Victoria University of Wellington ResearchArchive (Te Puna Rangahau) is an open-access institutional repository operated by Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, in Wellington, New Zealand. It provides free online access to research outputs produced by university researchers, including theses, dissertations, journal articles, and other scholarly works.
The ResearchArchive was established in June 2007, running on DSpace software. It is registered with the Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR) and supports Green Open Access publishing for Victoria University of Wellington researchers. Over time, the university has also developed a parallel platform, Open Access Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington (hosted via Figshare at openaccess.wgtn.ac.nz), which serves as the university's primary open access repository for current research outputs with persistent DOI identifiers.
The ResearchArchive holds master's theses and doctoral dissertations from Victoria University of Wellington, along with a wide range of research papers, reports, and scholarly publications across disciplines including journalism, communications, information science, social sciences, humanities, and sciences. Items are OAI-PMH compliant, supporting harvest and discovery through international scholarly databases.
The repository is freely accessible online without registration. Researchers may deposit post-print versions of peer-reviewed articles. Items may be subject to embargo periods as required by publishers. All items include a preferred citation and, where available, a link to the published version.
