Victoria Feminist Newsletters is a digital collection documenting the organizing and awareness activities of Victoria, British Columbia-area feminist groups, held by the University of Victoria (UVic) Libraries Special Collections & University Archives.
The newsletters form part of the Victoria Women's Movement Archives, an initiative that began in 1995 as a collaboration between Victoria women's organizations, the University of Victoria Archives, and the Department of Women's Studies (now the Gender Studies Department), established to preserve primary sources documenting the history of Victoria's women's movement groups. The underlying physical collection is catalogued as the Victoria Women's Movement Newsletter and Pamphlet Collection (fonds identifier AR439).
The digital collection consists of 339 issues from 17 feminist newsletters dating from 1970 to 2002, including titles such as B.C. Voice, Flagrant, Herizons: Women's Feminist News, Island Women Weekly News, LesbiaNews, the Older Women's Project Newsletter, Prime Time, and the SWAG (Status of Women Action Group) Newsletter.
The collection is accessible online through Vault, the University of Victoria Libraries' digital asset management platform. The physical fonds is held by Special Collections & University Archives in Room A005, lower level, Mearns Centre - McPherson Library, University of Victoria.
