Daisy Veerasingham is a British media executive who has served as president and CEO of the Associated Press since January 2022. Born in London, she holds a law degree and began her career in media sales and content licensing at LexisNexis and the Financial Times. She joined AP in 2004 as sales director for AP Television News in London and went on to lead the news cooperative's international video business through its shift to a fully digital, multichannel operation. She was named senior vice president and chief revenue officer in 2019, overseeing AP's global sales, product, marketing, and customer operations, and became executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2021. Veerasingham succeeded Gary Pruitt as AP's president and CEO effective January 1, 2022, becoming the 14th person to lead the organization since its founding in 1846, and its first woman, first person of color, and first international citizen to hold the role. She lives in New York.
