The University of Idaho is a public land-grant research university in Moscow, Idaho.
Journalism at the University of Idaho is housed in the School of Journalism and Mass Media (JAMM), part of the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. JAMM is Idaho's only program accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC), accredited since 2014. The school offers bachelor's degrees in advertising, broadcasting and digital media, film and television, journalism, and public relations.
The University of Idaho was established as the territory's land-grant institution on January 30, 1889, when Idaho Territorial Governor Edward Stevenson signed Council Bill No. 20. The university opened for classes on October 3, 1892, with 40 students, predating Idaho statehood by roughly a year.
