Use of DataThe Universiti Malaya Research Repository (UM Research Repository) is an open-access institutional digital archive managed by the Digital Scholarship and Information Commons of the Universiti Malaya Library. It was developed as part of the library's broader effort to establish institutional repositories for the university community and is powered by EPrints 3 software developed by the University of Southampton. The repository supports OAI 2.0 metadata harvesting. It operates alongside the Students' Repository (for student theses and dissertations) and UM Memory (for historical photographs) as part of the Universiti Malaya Archive (UMArc) ecosystem.
The UM Research Repository is a deposit service for academic staff and researchers at Universiti Malaya, hosting published and unpublished research outputs. Holdings include peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, working papers, book chapters, monographs, and other scholarly outputs. Most items are available in open access; some are embargoed for a period or restricted due to copyright. The repository is integrated with the university's broader library system, which holds over 1.4 million titles and provides access to more than 71 online databases. UM is Malaysia's oldest university, established in 1949, and consistently ranked among the top universities in Asia.
The repository is fully accessible online at eprints.um.edu.my without requiring user registration. Staff and researchers deposit their work through a self-archiving deposit system. All deposited items are reviewed before publication in the repository.
