The Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) repository of Universitas Gadjah Mada is a dedicated digital service of the UGM Library and Archives, one of Indonesia's most important academic library systems. Universitas Gadjah Mada was established in 1949 in Yogyakarta. Starting from August 2013, the Library transitioned away from receiving print versions of student theses due to space constraints, replacing them with digital submissions through the ETD system. An online self-upload portal allows students to submit their academic works directly, with author approval before full-text access is granted.
The UGM ETD Repository holds over 267,000 student academic works as of recent counts, including: undergraduate final papers (Tugas Akhir): approximately 20,922; undergraduate theses (Skripsi): approximately 112,267; master's theses (Tesis): approximately 122,612; doctoral dissertations (Disertasi): approximately 8,704; and specialist theses (Tesis-Spesialis): approximately 3,296. The collection spans all faculties and disciplines at UGM. Full-text access to theses and dissertations is restricted to on-campus computers or designated ETD reading stations in the library; abstracts, introductions, and conclusions are accessible remotely in open access.
The ETD repository is accessible at etd.repository.ugm.ac.id. Full-text access requires physical presence at UGM campus on designated ETD computers. Remote access is limited to metadata, abstracts, and selected chapters. The ETD service is open Monday through Saturday at the UGM Library, Yogyakarta.
