The A. S. Pushkin National Library of the Republic of Tyva (Национальная библиотека им. А. С. Пушкина Республики Тыва) is the main public and research library of the Tyva Republic (also known as Tuva), a federal subject of the Russian Federation located in southern Siberia. The library takes its name from the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Its modern institutional history is closely tied to the Soviet period: since 1958 the library has been responsible for maintaining a comprehensive collection for the republic. Tyva's official name was changed from Tuva to Tyva in 1993, and the library reflects the region's unique bilingual identity—Tyvan and Russian are both official languages.
The library holds a wide range of books, periodicals, manuscripts, and digital materials in both the Tyvan and Russian languages, as well as materials about Tyva published elsewhere in the Russian Federation and abroad. It maintains an electronic library of select digitized documents available in full-text format, browsable by thematic category, including rare books and a collection of digitized Tyva newspapers. The library's website also provides access to the letopis' pechati (bibliography of print) for Tyva, covering publications from 1968 onward.
The library holds digitized issues of Tyva newspapers from 2014–2015 as well as lists of Tyva journal holdings from 2013–2017. The letopis' pechati compiled by the republic's Book Chamber and accessible via the library's website provides systematic annual bibliographic coverage of all books, articles, periodicals, and newspapers published in Tyva.
The library is open Monday through Friday 09:00–18:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00. The online catalog is publicly accessible. The library is affiliated with the Republic of Tyva and headed by Executive Director Olga V. Fenzel.
