The National Archives of Togo (French: Archives nationales du Togo) are the principal state archival repository of the Republic of Togo, located in Lomé. They operate as a component of the Direction de la Bibliothèque et des Archives Nationales (DBAN) under the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Archival activity in Togo dates to the colonial period under German and later French administration. After independence in 1960 the state began to consolidate its documentary heritage. The archives are governed by the 2015 Togolese Archives Law. In January 2025 the DBAN hosted a public open day in Lomé focused on the role of archives in national development, highlighting ongoing efforts to digitize holdings for preservation and improved access.
The archives hold records of the Togolese government and administration, including documents from the colonial German and French administrations. The collection spans official government records, administrative files, and materials related to Togo's political, economic, social, and cultural history. Pre-independence diplomatic archives are also available at the National Library.
The archives contain records relating to the Togolese press and the administration of public information during both the colonial period and post-independence governance.
The archives are open to the public, including professional researchers, students, lawyers, journalists, and citizens seeking personal documents. Opening hours are Monday through Friday 07:30–12:00 and 14:30–17:30; closed Saturday and Sunday.
