Biography

Richard Tobiko is a Kenyan finance executive associated with Nation Media Group, East and Central Africa's largest independent media house, which publishes the Daily Nation and other titles and operates NTV and other broadcast properties across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from the University of Nairobi, and is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. Tobiko previously served as Chief Accountant at Nation Media Group before roles at General Electric, the African Development Bank and the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO). He was appointed Nation Media Group's Group Finance Director in October 2018 and joined its board as an executive director in March 2019; he later served as the company's interim Group Managing Director and CEO before Geoffrey Odundo was appointed to the role, effective April 2025.
