The Record-Courier is a twice-weekly print and digital newspaper serving Gardnerville, Minden and the Carson Valley in Douglas County, Nevada, with additional coverage of Alpine County and Mono County, California. It is one of the oldest continuously published newspaper nameplates in Nevada.
The paper traces its origin to The Carson Valley News, founded in Genoa, Nevada, in 1875 by A.C. Pratt. The paper was renamed The Genoa Courier in 1880 and later merged with The Genoa Journal. A rival paper, the Gardnerville Record, was founded in 1898 by George "the Fiddler" Lamy. After a 1904 fire destroyed the Record's plant, the two papers merged to form The Record-Courier. The paper was purchased by Swift Communications in 1988, sold to Pacific Publishing Company (operating as Nevada News Group) in 2019, and sold again to Eagle Valley Publishing, founded by editor Adam Trumble, in January 2025.
