Use of DataThe Messenger founded in 1856, is a daily broadsheet published in Fort Dodge, Iowa. It began as the weekly Fort Dodge Sentinel (a prose/poetry publication). By 1884, the paper switched to daily publication. The paper merged with another paper, the Chronicle, becoming the Fort Dodge Messenger and Chronicle (eventually dropping Chronicle). Ogden Newspapers Inc. in 1963 purchased the Messenger. In 2006, they celebrated 150 years in publication.
