The Danish Data Portal (Danish: Datavejviser) is a national catalogue of publicly available datasets maintained by the Danish Agency for Digital Government (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen) under the Ministry of Finance. It provides a unified registry of reusable public datasets from Danish government authorities and other public organizations, targeting businesses, researchers, government bodies, and citizens.
The Danish Data Portal launched in 2022, funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility. It was established as part of Denmark's broader national digitalization strategy, which includes significant investment in the quality and availability of public data. In November 2023, the Danish Government published a new Strategy of Digitization that extends planned investment in the accessibility of public sector datasets. The portal was developed and is operated by the Danish Agency for Digital Government.
The portal provides metadata descriptions (catalogue entries) for significant public datasets, including information about content, format, licensing, and conditions of use. It prioritizes datasets most requested by users and those relevant to major societal challenges, including those related to the green transition. The portal is designed to continuously expand its catalogue as more public datasets are documented. A related resource, Open Data DK, focuses specifically on municipal-level open data.
The Danish Data Portal is accessible online at datavejviser.dk (primarily in Danish). The portal provides links to the underlying datasets held by the originating agencies rather than hosting the data itself. Access conditions vary by dataset.
