Among the many prominent writers The Atlantic has featured are Harriet Beecher Stowe, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. The American Society of Magazine Editors named it the Magazine of the Year in 2016.
