The Thai Digital Collection (TDC) is a full-text electronic repository and search gateway operated under the Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS) project, which is administered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand. TDC provides access to over 600,000 full-text documents from member universities and research institutions throughout Thailand.
TDC was developed as a project under the ThaiLIS framework, a cooperative library network for Thai higher education institutions. The system has evolved over time to incorporate new technology, including a new user interface and distributed indexing system. Access to the full text of documents is generally restricted to users within member institution networks, though public registration for limited access is available.
TDC's holdings encompass dissertations and theses, faculty research reports, academic journal articles, conference papers, archival documents, and rare books. These materials are contributed by universities, academic institutes, and government agencies that are members of the ThaiLIS cooperative network. The collection spans the social sciences, humanities, sciences, applied sciences, and professional fields.
Users affiliated with ThaiLIS member institutions may access and download materials freely through their institutional networks without login. External users may register on the TDC website for access. The system also supports integration through Z39.50, web services, and OAI-PMH protocols, allowing other systems to harvest metadata from the repository.
