The School of Journalism and Media, part of the College of Communication and Information, offers a Bachelor of Science in Communication in Journalism and Media, with concentrations including News and Sports Communication.
Students gain hands-on experience through the college's Media Center and in-college outlets including The Daily Beacon, WUTK-FM, WUOT-FM, Lumos Media, Land Grant Films, and Ablaze Magazine. In 2024, the school partnered with the USA TODAY Network to cover the Paralympic Games and plans similar coverage of the 2026 Games in Italy.
The unit was previously named the School of Journalism and Electronic Media before adopting its current name, School of Journalism and Media.
