The Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia (ArmStat; Armenian: Հայաստանի վիճակագրական կոմիտե) is Armenia's official national statistical agency, responsible for collecting, processing, and publishing official statistics for the country. It is headquartered in Yerevan at Government Building 3, Republic Avenue.
Statistical activities in Armenia began formally on 7 January 1922 as the Statistical Department of Soviet Socialist Republic of Armenia. The institution has undergone several reorganizations and name changes: it was known as the State Department of Statistics, State Register and Analysis (1992–1998), the Ministry of Statistics, State Register and Analysis (1998–2000), and the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (2000–2018), before adopting its current name as the Statistical Committee in April 2018. Armenia joined the IMF's Special Data Dissemination Standard in November 2003, being the third CIS member to do so.
ArmStat publishes a comprehensive range of statistical data including population and housing censuses, household surveys (including Integrated Living Conditions Surveys with anonymised microdata), foreign trade data, agricultural censuses, and indicators on sustainable development goals. It coordinates Armenia's national statistical system and sets terminology and dissemination policies for official statistics across government bodies.
The ArmStat website (armstat.am) provides free public access to statistical publications, data tables, press releases, and microdata catalogs. The hotline (+374 60 510 610) provides information assistance to users.
