Sparks, Nevada, USA
The Sparks Tribune is a weekly community newspaper published each Wednesday in Sparks, Nevada, owned by Battle Born Media.
The paper traces its origin to the weekly Wadsworth Dispatch, first published September 21, 1892, in Wadsworth, Nevada. The paper relocated to Sparks in 1905 and was renamed the Sparks Dispatch, then the Nevada Forum in 1906. Receiver Patrick Howard Mulcahy took charge of the paper in 1910 and renamed it the Sparks Tribune. The paper passed through several owners across the 20th century, including the Mulcahy family, Carl and Bruce Shelly, George Lill, and Ira Jacobson's Nevada Printing Co. Battle Born Media, owned by longtime Nevada journalists Sherman Frederick and Tim Dahlberg, acquired the Sparks Tribune from Sparks Tribune LLC in 2017. Dahlberg, a national sports columnist for the Associated Press, got his start at the Tribune in the 1970s as sports editor and photographer.
