SIKS (Sistem Informasi Kearsipan Statis), or the Static Archival Information System, is a software application developed and distributed by the Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (ANRI), the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. It serves as a digital infrastructure tool enabling Indonesian government agencies, universities, and regional archival bodies to catalog, manage, and make accessible their permanent (static) archival holdings through a standardized information system.
ANRI developed SIKS as part of Indonesia's broader e-government and e-Arsip (e-Archive) initiative to modernize archival management across the nation. The application complements SIKD (Sistem Informasi Kearsipan Dinamis), which handles active records. SIKS is intended to serve as a database and upload platform feeding into the national network portal JIKN (Jaringan Informasi Kearsipan Nasional), allowing static archival data from regional custodians to be accessible from a single national online entry point.
ANRI has distributed the SIKS application to multiple provincial governments and state universities across Indonesia. The program was introduced to Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta as early as December 2010, and subsequent rollouts reached dozens of public universities including Universitas Diponegoro. The goal has been to support the Tri Dharma mission of higher education and to improve public access to government records and historical documentation.
Static archives catalogued through SIKS comprise permanently retained records from ministries, state institutions, state-owned enterprises, social organizations, political organizations, and private individuals whose materials have been transferred to and verified by ANRI or regional archival bodies. Materials include government correspondence, photographs, maps, organizational records, and administrative documents of historical significance.
The public-facing portal for accessing static archives from ANRI and its network is available at siks.arsip.go.id and through the broader JIKN portal. Researchers may also access static archive services in person at the ANRI reading room at Gedung A, lantai 1, Jl. Ampera Raya No. 7, Jakarta Selatan, on weekdays. SIKS is designed to allow any Indonesian archival institution to upload and share their catalogued materials through the national system.
