Victoria Schlesinger is editor-in-chief of Bay Nature magazine, which covers the natural environment of the San Francisco Bay Area. A native of the Bay Area, she has written about the environment for more than 15 years, with articles appearing in Harper's Magazine, Mother Jones, The New York Times, Audubon, Discover magazine and on PBS Frontline. She began her reporting career interning at California Wild and stringing and substitute publishing for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Point Reyes Light. She is the author of Animals and Plants of the Ancient Maya (University of Texas Press, 2002) and was a founding partner and editor of Way Out West, a Bay Area journalism collaborative.
