Jandos Rothstein is a graphic designer, art director, journalist, and professor at George Mason University specializing in periodical branding and editorial design. Over a 20-year design career, including 12 years as design principal at a publication, he has redesigned or helped launch more than a dozen magazines and newspapers. His editorial design clients have included The American Prospect, The Washington City Paper, Governing Magazine, The Institute for Science and International Security, and The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. His design work has been recognized more than 60 times by organizations including Print Magazine, the Society of Publication Designers, the Society for News Design, and the Art Director's Club of Metropolitan Washington. In his 20 years at George Mason, Rothstein has led the launch of two new graduate programs and served on department, college, and university committees. He is the author of Designing Magazines (Allworth Press, 2009) and more than 100 articles on design for publications including How, Print, ID, AIGA Design Journal, The Washington Post, and Parenthesis.
