Rolling Stone, LLC is the corporate entity that publishes Rolling Stone, a music, film, television, and political-news publication. It is part of Penske Media Corporation (PMC), a privately held media and information-services company based in Los Angeles and New York.

Ownership

Rolling Stone operates under Penske Media Corporation, led by founder, chairman, and CEO Jay Penske. Since 2020, Rolling Stone has operated within PMRC, a joint venture between PMC and MRC (led by Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu) that also includes The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Billboard, and Vibe.

History

In September 2020, PMC and MRC announced the formation of PMRC, combining PMC's Rolling Stone, Variety, and Music Business Worldwide interests with MRC's The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, and Vibe. In 2025, Penske Media Corporation acquired Vox Media, forming the subsidiary PMX to combine Penske titles including Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Variety with Vox Media titles such as SB Nation and PopSugar.
