Biography

Derica W. Rice is a healthcare and pharmaceutical executive who serves on the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company. He spent nearly three decades at Eli Lilly and Company, joining in 1990 as an international treasury associate and rising through roles including chief financial officer of Eli Lilly Canada, general manager of Lilly's U.K. affiliate, and vice president and controller, before serving as executive vice president of global services and chief financial officer from 2006 to 2017. In 2018, Rice came out of retirement to join CVS Health as executive vice president and president of CVS Caremark, the company's pharmacy benefits management business, a role he held until 2020. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University and an MBA from Indiana University. In 2009, Black Enterprise magazine named him one of the '100 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America.' He also serves on the boards of Target Corporation, Bristol Myers Squibb, and the Carlyle Group.
