The Repositorio Institucional of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) is the university's open-access digital repository for the preservation and dissemination of the academic and scientific output generated by its faculty, researchers, and students. Operating as a collaborative space, it collects and makes freely available theses, journal articles, book chapters, research reports, printed and digital collection records, and other scholarly materials produced at USACH.

History and Background

The repository was developed in line with international open-access mandates and Chile's national efforts to promote the free circulation of scientific knowledge. It reflects USACH's commitment to making the institution's scholarly production accessible to both the national and international academic community. A companion research data repository, the Repositorio de Datos de Investigación USACH (datos.usach.cl), uses the Dataverse platform and allows researchers to share, preserve, and cite datasets.

The repository includes records of printed and digital collections, core academic collections, peer-reviewed journal articles, undergraduate and postgraduate theses, and other support materials. Of special note is the Fondo Histórico del Plantel (Campus Historical Fund), which houses rare and valuable books published prior to 1980 that formed part of the bibliographic collections of the institutions that preceded and eventually merged to create USACH.
