Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
The University of Regina is a public university in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Journalism at the University of Regina is housed in the School of Journalism, part of the Faculty of Arts and described by the university as Saskatchewan's only school of journalism. Supported since 1980 by the James M. Minifie Fund, the school offers a Master of Journalism as well as an undergraduate program; in 2024, following a one-year pause to redesign its curriculum, the school launched a new Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, News Media, and Communication. All undergraduate students complete a paid 13-week internship as part of the program.
The University of Regina traces its roots to Regina College, a high school established by the Methodist Church of Canada in 1911. The college affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan in 1925, ceded fully to it in 1934, gained degree-granting status as the University of Saskatchewan's Regina Campus in 1961, and became the independent University of Regina on July 1, 1974.
