Rangeley Highlander

Overview

Rangeley Highlander is a biweekly newspaper covering Rangeley, Oquossoc Village, Dallas Plantation, Sandy River Plantation and the surrounding Rangeley Lakes region of Maine. It is part of the Maine Trust for Local News' "Western Maine Weeklies."

History

First published June 1957. The Sun Journal purchased the Highlander along with three other weeklies from Kirkland Newspapers of Farmington on Oct. 1, 2007. It later became part of Sun Media Group, then Masthead Maine, and since 2023 the nonprofit Maine Trust for Local News.
