Use of DataPortal Satu Data Indonesia (One Data Indonesia) is the official national open data portal of the Republic of Indonesia, accessible at data.go.id. The portal aggregates datasets from central and regional government ministries, agencies, and institutions, making them publicly available in machine-readable formats. It is managed by the Secretariat of Satu Data Indonesia at the central level, under the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas).
Indonesia's open data journey began following the passage of the Freedom of Information Act (Law No. 14 of 2008), which shifted the default status of government data from closed to publicly accessible. In 2011, Indonesia became one of eight founding members of the international Open Government Partnership (OGP). The data.go.id portal was officially launched in 2014 as the national open government data portal, with technical support from the World Bank. A presidential regulation formally governing the Satu Data Indonesia initiative was issued in 2019, and a comprehensively redesigned portal was relaunched in December 2022 under the management of Bappenas.
The portal hosts thousands of datasets from across the Indonesian government, covering areas such as demographics, the environment, infrastructure, economy, health, education, disaster management, and governance. Datasets are available in formats including CSV, JSON, and XLS. The portal uses the CKAN open-source data management platform, the same technology powering open data portals in the United Kingdom, European Union, Brazil, and other countries. Datasets are tagged, categorized, and searchable by topic, organization, and format.
Portal Satu Data Indonesia is a critical resource for data journalists, academic researchers, civil society organizations, and policymakers working on Indonesian public affairs. It provides primary source data for investigative journalism on government spending, environmental change, public health, and regional development.
The portal is freely accessible at data.go.id. The dataset catalog is also accessible at katalog.data.go.id.
