The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), operates a Climatological Data Request service through its Climatology and Agrometeorology Division (CAD). This service allows individuals, researchers, government agencies, and businesses to formally request historical climate and meteorological data recorded at weather stations across the Philippines.
PAGASA was established to provide adequate, up-to-date data and timely information on atmospheric, astronomical, and weather-related phenomena. It operates as the national meteorological and hydrological service of the Philippines, fulfilling the country's obligations to international meteorological and climate change agreements. PAGASA is headquartered at the PAGASA Science Garden on Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila.
The Climatology and Agrometeorology Division maintains long-term observational records from PAGASA's network of synoptic weather stations across the Philippines. Available data types include climatological normals (30-year averages of temperature, rainfall, humidity, wind speed, and other parameters), wind rose analyses, solar radiation data, tropical cyclone information, and station profile data. Data is also available in high-resolution gridded formats developed through the ClimGridPh project, and climate projections are published based on CMIP5 and CMIP6 model outputs.
Researchers and students requesting data must submit an online application through the PAGASA website, providing a valid identification document. Student researchers must also submit a school ID or registration form, a copy of their approved research or thesis proposal, a signed Terms and Condition of Use for Climatological Data (TOU) form, and a formal request letter addressed to the PAGASA Administrator, signed by a research adviser. Commercial and government users follow analogous procedures. Fees for specific data products apply (e.g., PHP 0.50 per data point for some climatological products). Requesters can track order status online.
