The Otago University Research Archive (OUR Archive) is the institutional repository of the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Established in August 2009, it provides public access to the university's quality research outputs, including published and unpublished works by Otago staff and students.
OUR Archive was launched on 21 August 2009, making it one of New Zealand's established institutional repositories. It was built on DSpace software and registered with the Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR). The repository was created to support the University of Otago's tradition of research excellence and to comply with emerging open access policies, including those of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
OUR Archive holds a wide range of scholarly content including theses (particularly doctoral and research Master's degrees), journal articles, book chapters, discussion papers, working papers, commissioned reports, and other research outputs. Collection policy requires that deposited material be scholarly and research output produced while the author is affiliated with the University of Otago. Access levels range from open full-text access to abstract-only access depending on copyright permissions.
OUR Archive is freely accessible online and allows users to search and browse by division or school. Open access full-text items may be freely downloaded; embargoed or restricted items may provide abstract access only. The University of Otago Library administers the repository in accordance with its Institutional Research Repository Policy, which governs deposit, withdrawal, and access procedures.
