Use of DataThe Open Government Data of Thailand (data.go.th) is the official national open data portal of Thailand, operated by the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), a state-owned organization. It serves as a centralized platform for accessing open datasets from Thai government agencies, providing data in multiple formats along with visualization tools and automatic API access.
The portal was developed by the Electronic Government Agency (EGA), the predecessor of DGA, as part of Thailand's broader e-government strategy. It is built on the open-source CKAN platform with DGA extensions. The portal has continued to expand under the DGA, which officially launched enhanced versions of the platform including API infrastructure supporting developer access to government datasets.
Data.go.th hosts datasets from Thai government ministries and agencies covering areas including population statistics, economic indicators, agriculture, education, public health, environmental data, and transportation. Data is published in open formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML with support for data previews. The portal also includes datasets that are predominantly historical.
Datasets are freely accessible and downloadable by the public. The portal provides APIs that allow developers to integrate government data into applications. Users can register for an API key to access the Open Government Data Thailand API. The DGA participates in International Open Data Day and promotes data literacy through engagement activities with government agencies, researchers, and the public.
