The Open Data Philippines Portal (ODPH), accessible at data.gov.ph, is the official open data platform of the Government of the Philippines. Managed by the Open Data Philippines Task Force under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), it serves as a centralized repository for government datasets in open and machine-readable formats.
The portal was launched on January 16, 2014, during the Good Governance Summit under the administration of President Benigno Aquino III. It was established as part of the Philippines' commitments to the Open Government Partnership (OGP), with support from the World Bank, the World Wide Web Foundation, and Step Up Consulting. The portal was relaunched under the Duterte administration following the signing of Executive Order No. 2 on Freedom of Information in 2016, which designated data.gov.ph as the central database for all publicly available government information.
The portal hosts thousands of datasets from government agencies covering sectors including health, education, environment, agriculture, economic indicators, and public finance. It also provides gender-disaggregated data and visualizations. Datasets link directly to source agencies for download, with the publishing agency retaining responsibility for quality and timeliness. By 2016, the portal had over 3,000 files available; subsequent re-launches expanded coverage significantly.
All datasets on data.gov.ph are freely accessible to the public and available for download without registration. The platform encourages citizen engagement through capacity-building activities such as hackathons, training boot camps, and developer competitions. It operates under open government data licensing principles permitting unrestricted use and reuse.
