Biography

Jerry O'Donnell (1964-2024) was general manager of ESPN 100.9-FM (WLUN), a sports radio station in Midland, Michigan, and the Great Lakes Loons minor league baseball team's first public address announcer, a role he held from the team's inaugural 2007 season through the 2022 season, calling 1,040 games. Before his radio management career, O'Donnell worked as a journalist for WNEM TV 5 and as a program director for WGER, sister station to WSGW. At ESPN 100.9-FM, he also hosted The Training Room, a weekly health and fitness program. He stepped away from his PA announcer role before the 2023 season after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, but continued recording advertisements for the station. He died April 26, 2024, following a battle with cancer.
