Nevada News Group is a Northern Nevada newspaper publisher operating the Nevada Appeal, The Record-Courier, the Lahontan Valley News, the Northern Nevada Business Weekly, the Humboldt Sun, the Battle Mountain Bugle, the Lovelock Review-Miner and Nevada Rancher magazine.
The publications were previously owned by Carson City-based Swift Communications, founded in 1975 by Philip E. Swift. Swift sold four of its Sierra Nevada Media Group titles, including the Nevada Appeal, in August 2019 to Seattle-based Pacific Publishing Company, which operated them as Nevada News Group. In January 2025, Nevada News Group was acquired by Eagle Valley Publishing, a Carson City company founded in 2023 by journalist Adam Trumble, from Pacific Publishing.
Nevada News Group's publications combined have operated for nearly 450 years, with the Nevada Appeal alone tracing its roots to the Carson Daily Appeal, first published May 16, 1865. The group's publications won more than 60 awards at the 2024 Nevada Press Association contest.
