Nevada Appeal is a twice-weekly newspaper covering Carson City, Nevada, and the state's oldest newspaper. It is operated by Nevada News Group, a division of Eagle Valley Publishing.
Founded May 16, 1865, as the Carson Daily Appeal by E.F. McElwain, J. Barrett and Marshall Robinson, edited by Henry Rust Mighels. The paper passed through numerous names and owners over the following century, becoming the Morning Appeal (1877), Carson City Daily Appeal (1907) and finally the Nevada Appeal in 1947 under Arthur N. Suverkrup. Donrey Media Group sold the paper to three of its own executives in 1993, who sold it to Swift Communications in 1995. On Jan. 1, 2025, Eagle Valley Publishing, founded in Carson City in 2023 by Adam Trumble, acquired the Nevada Appeal along with the Lahontan Valley News, The Record-Courier and Northern Nevada Business Weekly from Pacific Publishing Company.
Celebrated its 160th year of publication in 2025. Nevada News Group's publications collectively won more than 60 awards in the 2024 Nevada Press Association contest.
