Biography

Douglas W. Neal is senior vice president of Newfoundland Broadcasting Co. Ltd., which operates NTV, the only independent, privately owned conventional television station serving Newfoundland and Labrador since 1955. In that role, Neal has represented the station in regulatory proceedings before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and testified before the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications on broadcasting policy matters. He has also spoken publicly on behalf of NTV in support of the Local TV Matters campaign, a coalition of Canadian broadcasters advocating for the preservation of local television in the face of industry consolidation.
