Monicah Waceke Ndung’u is chief corporate affairs and partnerships officer at Nation Media Group (NMG), the East and Central African media house that publishes the Daily Nation, Business Daily, and The East African and operates broadcasters including NTV and Nation FM. She joined NMG in February 2020 as head of broadcasting, overseeing NTV and Nation FM, and in April 2022 was appointed to the newly created role of executive director-transformation, steering the company's digital transformation strategy while continuing to manage its Kenyan broadcasting business. Before joining NMG, she was general manager of Kwese Free TV Kenya, part of Econet Media's pan-African free-to-air television business, where she led the first FIFA World Cup broadcast partnership with a private Kenyan media house. She previously worked in television programming at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. She serves as a Supervisory Board Member for Africa at WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers, and is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys). She is a Chevening Scholar with an M.A. in communication from the University of Westminster and a B.A. in communication (electronic media) from Daystar University, where she has also taught as a part-time lecturer.
