The National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University Institutional Repository (NYCU IR) is the open-access digital repository of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. The repository collects, preserves, and makes accessible the scholarly and research output produced by the university's faculty, researchers, and students.
NYCU was established on 1 February 2021 through the merger of two prestigious Taiwanese research universities: National Chiao Tung University (founded in 1896, relocated to Hsinchu in 1958) and National Yang-Ming University (founded in Taipei in 1975). The institutional repository carries forward the digital repository traditions of both predecessor institutions.
National Chiao Tung University had been recognized as one of Taiwan's top universities for engineering and technology, while National Yang-Ming University was a leader in biomedical and health sciences research. Their combined repository reflects this interdisciplinary breadth.
NYCU IR serves as the central hub for the university's research output across 19 colleges and 74 research centers. The repository holds theses and dissertations, journal articles, conference papers, digital teaching materials, and other scholarly publications spanning fields including engineering, medicine, life sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
The repository is freely accessible online at ir.lib.nycu.edu.tw. The platform operates in both Chinese and English and uses DSpace-based infrastructure. Researchers worldwide may search and download open-access content.
