Use of DataThe National Repository of Academic Texts (NRAT; Ukrainian: Національний репозитарій академічних текстів) is Ukraine's state-level distributed electronic database for academic literature. Managed by the State Scientific Institution Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information (UkrISTEI), the repository aggregates dissertations, theses, journal articles, monographs, and other scholarly outputs from Ukrainian universities and research institutions, providing open access for educational, scientific, and innovation purposes.
The NRAT was established pursuant to an Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (No. 1466, dated December 7, 2016), which tasked UkrISTEI with implementing the repository. The system was developed to promote academic integrity and open science in Ukraine, aligned with international best practices and European open access standards. The repository operates under the domain nrat.ukrintei.ua and makes content searchable through nrat.gov.ua.
NRAT collects academic texts in electronic form including: dissertations and their abstracts for scientific degrees; graduation qualification works of higher education applicants; articles in scientific publications (including those on which scientific degrees are based); monographs; and other scholarly materials. The central repository is supplemented by local institutional repositories from Ukrainian universities and publishers. The system is regularly updated with archival materials from UkrISTEI, and institutional participants contribute content from their own collections.
The repository provides open access to registered academic texts through its official web portal. Users can search by title, author, subject, speciality code, and institution. Registration is available for authors and institutional affiliates. The repository interface is available in Ukrainian and English. Contact: NRAT@ukrintei.ua. Address: 180 Antonovych Str., UkrISTEI, Kyiv, 03150, Ukraine.
