MyGeoportal (mygeoportal.gov.my) is Malaysia's official national geospatial portal, operated by the National Geospatial Centre (PGN) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability. It serves as the primary online gateway for the Malaysia Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MyGDI), providing access to a suite of geospatial applications, services, data, and information resources for government agencies, the private sector, academia, and the public.
MyGeoportal evolved from the earlier work of the Malaysian Centre for Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MaCGDI), which was established in December 2002 to replace the NaLIS (National Land Information System) Secretariat. MyGDI as a national initiative dates to approximately 1997. MaCGDI was subsequently restructured as the National Geospatial Centre (PGN) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability. The MyGDI Circular Letter No. 1 of 2006 provided the formal policy framework for the infrastructure, of which MyGeoportal is the primary public access point. The Malaysia Geospatial Online Services (MyGOS) was formally established as part of the portal ecosystem in 2014.
MyGeoportal provides access to multiple geospatial applications and services including MyGDI Explorer (national metadata catalogue), MyGOS (geospatial online services and data portal), MyGeoMap (mapping tools), MyGDI Data Services, geographic names database (MyGeoName), and UPI (Unique Parcel Identifier) services. The portal supports coordination of government geospatial data across all levels of the Malaysian government and facilitates sharing of authoritative base datasets.
MyGeoportal and its applications are accessible online. Access levels vary by application: many services are publicly available, while some administrative functions require registration. The portal supports government business processes, decision-making, and public access to geospatial data and tools across Malaysia.
