The Missouri State Archives, a division of the Office of the Missouri Secretary of State, is the officially designated repository for Missouri state records of permanent value.
The Missouri State Archives was created in 1965.
The Archives identifies, collects, preserves, and makes available the permanent and historically valuable records of Missouri's state and local governments to elected officials, state government, historians, students, genealogists, and the general public. The Archives is supported by the nonprofit Friends of the Missouri State Archives, which hosts a monthly speaker series.
The Archives is located at 600 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, within the Office of the Secretary of State's State Information Center, with free admission.
