Use of DataMassey Research Online (MRO), also known as Pātaka Rangahau, is the institutional research repository of Massey University — Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa, New Zealand's multi-campus university with campuses in Palmerston North, Auckland, and Wellington. The repository was formally registered in early 2012 and operates using the DSpace platform.
MRO provides open access to Massey University's research outputs, including full-text theses, dissertations, exegeses, journal articles, conference and workshop papers, book chapters, and other scholarly works produced by the university's faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students. The repository spans all academic disciplines represented at Massey University, including arts, engineering, health and medicine, humanities, mathematics, science, social sciences, and technology. Theses deposited by postgraduate students enrolled after 1 January 2007 are subject to mandatory deposit requirements.
The repository is publicly accessible online, and most content is available for free download. Registered users can set up email alerts and RSS feeds for newly added content matching their interests. Massey University researchers can deposit materials through integration with the university's Symplectic publications profile system. Copyright-protected items may be subject to embargo periods or restricted access.
Massey University is a party to Read and Publish agreements with multiple publishers through the CAUL (Council of Australian University Librarians) consortium, supporting open access publication. MRO is the primary green open access repository for the university, allowing authors to self-archive published works subject to publisher conditions.
