Biography

Robert Malcolmson is executive vice president and chief legal and regulatory officer at Bell, leading the team responsible for developing and implementing the company's legal, regulatory, and government relations strategies. He joined Bell in 2015. Before Bell, he was communications law practice leader and department head at a Canadian law firm, advising Canadian and international clients on media, broadcasting, telecom, and copyright law, and previously served as general counsel of a specialty media company. In February 2024, Malcolmson announced Bell Media's sale of 45 of its 103 radio stations across British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, along with reductions to CTV local newscasts, telling the Canadian Press the divested stations were “not a viable business anymore.” He holds an LL.B.
