DeDe Lea is a media policy executive who has led government affairs for Viacom and its successor companies for over two decades. She joined Viacom in 1997 as vice president of government relations, was named executive vice president of the company's government relations team in 2005, and became executive vice president of Global Government Affairs in 2013. Following the 2019 merger of Viacom and CBS, Lea was named executive vice president of Global Public Policy and Government Relations for ViacomCBS (later Paramount), overseeing the company's government affairs and public policy work worldwide and reporting to the company's CEO. Before Viacom, she was senior vice president of Government Relations at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and held government affairs roles at the Dallas-based broadcaster Belo Corporation. Lea holds a J.D. from Georgetown Law and a B.A. in Broadcast Management from Howard University. She has served on the NAB Television Board of Directors and the boards of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
