Overview

Larissa (Layanan Arsip Statis) is the online archival access service of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia, ANRI). The portal enables registered users to search and access finding aids and digital reproductions of static (historical) archival holdings held by ANRI, Indonesia's central national archives institution.

About ANRI

ANRI is a non-departmental government institution responsible for maintaining Indonesia's central archive. Its collections trace their origins to the work of Jacob Anne van der Chijs, appointed as the first archivist of the Dutch East Indies in 1892 by the colonial government. Following Indonesian independence in 1945, archival administration passed through several institutional forms before ANRI was established under its current structure. ANRI holds the largest archival collection related to the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in the world; in 2003, Indonesia jointly submitted the VOC archives to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register with the Netherlands, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. ANRI is headquartered in Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Collections and Holdings

ANRI's static (historical) archives include records of permanent value produced by government ministries, agencies, state-owned enterprises, private organizations, and individuals. The Layanan Arsip Statis service provides access to these holdings for government, scholarly, research, and public purposes. In-person access is available at ANRI's reading room in Jakarta, while the Larissa portal extends access online.

Access and Usage

The Larissa portal requires user registration. Once registered, users can search finding aids and request access to archival materials. In-person reading room services are available at ANRI's Jakarta headquarters on weekdays. The ANRI website provides guidance on access procedures and request mechanisms.
