Biography

Donald P. “Pat” LaPlatney is president and co-chief executive officer of Gray Media, Inc., and has served on its board of directors since January 2, 2019. He came to the role through Gray's 2018-2019 acquisition of Raycom Media, where he was president and CEO; the combined company was led by LaPlatney with Gray's then-CEO Hilton Howell serving as executive chairman and co-CEO. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of digital media and business development at Raycom Media beginning in 2007, executive vice president of TV and digital media at Westwood One from 1999 to 2006, and executive vice president of programming and distribution at Raycom Sports from 1992 to 1996. He chairs the Television Board of the National Association of Broadcasters. LaPlatney holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
